Lebanese couturier Zuhair Murad never fails to disappoint with his collections. We absolutely adore these wedding gowns from this Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Over the years, Zuhair Murad has become the favorite amongst Hollywood stars and continues to help brides all over the world find their unique gowns for their big day. Even if it’s not your wedding yet, you can still get inspired!
We can’t get enough of African Designers dishing out unique look books from their collections. We came across “EDO1/2014” collection from the Ghanaian fashion brand 1981, and we couldn’t help but bask in the clean cut inspiring designs. The collection comprises of a range of beautiful pieces with detailed designs that can be worn for both day and night looks.
We congratulate the first winner of the Multichoice Nigeria Fashion Protege Competition– Oisetohanmen “Omon” Isinugben. She has indeed shown her creativity through her unique designs and presentation.
She is the Creative Director of Belois Couture, a brand based in Abuja Nigeria. Belois Couture launched in 2012 as a way to appreciate the modern woman through series of 70s and 80s inspired elegant and youthful pieces.
Upcoming Ghanaian brand, Bello Edu released its Spring/Summer 2014 Collection titled “The Bloom”. The lookbook was shot by Esinam Sokpor as the pretty-faced model Soraya Khalil rocked different outfits from the collection. The collection indeed blooms in various trendy ways as we can clearly notice a wide range of trends including crop tops, lace, florals, cut outs and more, all exhibited in subtle and bold colors.
When it comes to African Fashion, we can always look to brands such as Chichia London and Duro Olowu for inspiration. They stay dedicated to the African print ‘cult’ while giving us unique pieces which we can use for different seasons.
The Chichia London brand released two collections for their Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook. The ready to wear (RTW) made in Tanzania designs which takes us back to a fun yet chic fashion concept. According to the designer, “the 2014 mini collection titled ‘Reminisce’ recalls a sometimes forgotten time; ones childhood. The collection focuses on the idea of being grown up but still wanting to have fun in clothes and dressing up to feel happy, channeling a youthful innocence.”
